Global Lobster Warming??

#1 Does global warming impact on Lobster’s habitat?

Lobsters are cold-blooded, their body temperatures determined by the water in which they live. So if temperature of water goes higher, their habitat could change. In New England, for example, such populations will move north toward the Bay of Fundy.

#2 Does global warming impact on taste of the lobster?

The temperature of the water will affect the lobster. Warmer temperatures of water will increase the lobster’s respiration rate and oxygen needs while reducing the amount of dissolved oxygen available. However, as far as we know, global warming would not impact on taste of lobster.

#3 Dose global warming cause lobster disease?

Yes. Lobsters are cold-blooded, their body temperatures determined by the water in which they live. According to New England Aquarium if water temperatures exceed 68 degrees F, incidence of shell disease will increase.
