Lobster Trip

Lobster trip

On Wednesday our group went down to Cape Cod to meet with Mr. Weeks who has been lobstering for a long time. He told us how the lobster trap works and explained the process of capturing lobsters. We went on his boat to experience the actual route he used to do lobstering. The second pic shows the bridge we saw on the way to and back. The weather changed in a short period of time which remind me to give more respect to the lobstermen. They need to go out regardless of the extreme weather. Then we went to a local lobster retail market, we get a better understanding about the lobster market and the reason of prices change in time.
On Thursday we went to Maine. We further explore the lobstering process and some real interesting facts like the relationship between lobstermen. Then we went to Maine aquarium to see some rare lobsters. The color of lobsters is fascinating to me. Thanks to a lot of people putting together the trip and give us such a amazing experience, we really appreciate this. :)

Lobster trip

This was a boston trip, We went to the lobster market. The tour guide showed us lobster with only one clam. Lobsters are very essay to lose their clam, when predator trying to catch them, they will give up on their clam, and run away, because the clam they lost will grow back later on.

We learned that lobster the primary color of lobsters are orange, yellow and blue, they are all common to see in the ocean. Then we went to see a sampler of lobster and learned about how lobstermen manage their zooms for fishing. Conflict always occurs when lobstermen cross zooms. #1 Do you begin cooking with a live lobster or a dead one?

-      With a live lobster! It should still be alive within a matter of minutes prior to cooking unless it has been previously frozen.

#2 Why do we put lobster in to the boiling water?

-      From a scientific standpoint, the muscles toughen with the shock of hitting the boiling water gives more chewing for the diner.

Cooking Lobsters!!

One of the major way of cooking a lobster is by boiling in the hot water. However, some people think that boiling the lobster in the hot water is a torture. However, there are several ways of killing the lobster. One way is by freezing the lobster. It takes about an hour for a lobster to die in a fridge. Another way is by using a tazor. It will kill the lobster instantly. The other way is by putting the lobster in a pot with cold water, and boiling the water. However, there are people who like to kill the lobsters alive too.
There are many ways of cooking the lobsters. There are people who enjoy lobster sasimi, lobster macaroni, and lobster fried rice. However, my favorite way of cooking the lobster is by boiling and putting it in the oven. These are the steps of my recipe.
1. Boil the lobster for about 15 minutes.
2. Pull it out, and put it on top of a oven pan.
3. Cut it on its bottom part.
3. Put the butter on top of the lobster. For about 5 minutes.
4. Pull it out of the oven and put cheese and parsley.
5. Put it in the oven for 15 minutes.
6. Pull the lobster out and let it rest for 3 minutes.
There are many types of lobsters in this world. There are 2 major types of lobsters that people mainly enjoy eating. They are Maine lobsters, and Spiny lobsters. Even though they are same types of lobsters, their tails are different. We can identify where the lobsters came from by looking at their tails.

There are many reasons why people eat lobsters. For some people they eat lobsters because they are delicious. However, for other people, they eat lobsters because they have a lot of nutrients in them. They have vitamin, calcium, amino-acid, carbohydrates, protein, sterols, and protein. Lobster are very healthy food for people.
